January 17, 2008 AMLEOA attends NYC Community Board 5 meeting. The Muslim Day parade and festival is back on track. AMLEOA would like to thank Community Board 5 and its board members for their positive resolution. Muslim Day parade is October 12, 2008. Like always we will be marching in uniform.
January, 18, 2008 - Imam Shair Abdul-Mani, Bahir Mustafa and Jamiel Altaheri visited American Police Beat in Boston. January 18, 2008 AMLEOA visited the Islamic center of Boston and some of its founders and the chief engineer of the Mosque. May God bless our brothers and sisters in Boston. They have a beautiful community.

March 8, 2008 AMLEOA spend a day at Camp Smith. Jamiel Altaheri (Treasurer), Carlos Maldonado (Member) and a guest (non-member) gave lecture and presentation on Islam and Muslims to U.S. Army personnel at Camp Smith, New York. Special thanks to colonel Marchi , 1st Sergeant Muharaj and Corporal Justin Wesley.

March 31, 2008 Imam Shair Abdul-Mani, Jamiel Altaheri, Bahir Mustafa and Carlos Maldonado attended a meeting with CAIR-NY. AMLEOA and CAIR-NY are both committed in working together for the betterment of the Muslim community in New York.
April 08, 2008 AMLEOA and CAIR-NY have a special meeting with the Office of the District Attorney of Staten Island to discuss how the District Attorneys Office and the Muslim Community can combat and prevent future hate crimes.
April 11, 2008 AMLEOA-NY meeting. AMLEOA-NY will have a Members and Family dinner event on June 2008.
April 12, 2008 AMLEOA attends CAIR-Philadelphia Fundraiser.
April 22, 2008- AMLEOA and CAIR attend special meeting at the Bronx District Attorney's office to discuss hate related crimes occuring in the Muslim Community.

September 9, 2008 AMLEOA attends court hearing on the case of Philadelphia Police Officer Kimberly Webb. A three-judge appellate panel heard arguments on whether to reopen a case concerning an Islamic Philadelphia police officer who wants to wear a religious head scarf while on duty.
September 10, 2008 Manhattan Borough President Scott M. Stinger Hosts First Annual Iftar Dinner at Malcolm X and Betty Shabazz Center. Thank You President Stinger for organizing such a spectacular event.
